The Hotkey Utility application offered by XetoWare does two things to help you be more efficient. The first thing it does is to allow you to set up a list of hotkeys. The second thing it does is to monitor your keyboard so that when you press a hotkey, it performs the action assigned to that hotkey – open a program, hide a window, restart the PC, access a website, and more.

You can install Hotkey Utility on any 32-bit Windows edition from Windows 98 up to Windows 7 and on any 64-bit edition from XP up to Windows 7. Installing the application is a very simple process; you will have to download and run an executable, then go through a few simple steps presented to you by a setup wizard.

On Hotkey Utility interface you will see four buttons:
Start Hotkey Utility – when you click this button, the application minimizes to the system tray and starts monitoring your keyboard. When you use a hotkey, it performs the action associated with that hotkey.
Configure Hotkeys – you can view a list of built-in hotkeys, add new hotkeys, and edit the existing hotkeys.
Personalize Product – from this menu you can access a few options for personalizing the way the interface looks.
Exit – click this button to close the application.

Using Hotkey Utility is a simple 2-step process. Step 1: set up the hotkeys you want. Step 2: use the hotkeys to hide windows, minimize them, restart the PC, access a webpage, open a file, and so on. For the purposes of testing this software, I set it so that when I press Alt + F, the FindMySoft website opens. Now whenever I need to access findmysoft.com, I just use this hotkey – my default browser launches and takes me to the website.

You can use Hotkey Utility for free for a trial period of 10 days. You will be reminded of this fact every time you launch the application. And speaking about that, you can set it up so that Hotkey Utility automatically launches at startup.

Thanks to Hotkey Utility, you can easily and efficiently access websites, open files, launch programs and more. You can do that by simply pressing a hotkey.

Pros

Hotkey Utility works with 32 and 64-bit Windows editions. The list of hotkeys is not empty; some entries are already in the list. You can easily create new hotkeys. You can change the way the interface looks.

Cons

Free to use for a 10-day trial period; nag screen.
